Someone ran one query this weekend and pulled up hundreds of them. Resumes with real names and numbers. API keys. Crypto wallets. A lawyer's case notes. None of it sent around by the owners, all of it found through Google.

Hitting "Anyone with the link" never meant private. It builds a public web page, and search engines crawl it like any other site.

ChatGPT had the exact same problem last year, thousands of shared chats indexed before OpenAI killed the feature. Now it is Claude's turn.

Anthropic has patched it and the results are mostly gone from Google, though some still show on Bing. But only unsharing the chat kills the page, and cached copies outlive the fix.

Go delete your old shared chats.
