Even till now, some Chelsea fans still don’t seem to be aware of how deep in the shit we are. They still trust BlueCo. There’s no way you witnessed Roman’s era and don’t know that BlueCo can’t take us anywhere. They’re getting everything wrong.
I learned something few months ago and I think I should share it here because it might help others, especially young men who are trying to build their lives.
Society makes us believe that rich and successful people don’t make noise, don’t show off, keep to themselves, have this “cool” aura, and all that. Then we’re encouraged to emulate that behaviour.
In fact, a lot of us are now moving like Wizkid, we barely speak to someone in public. Instead of connecting with strangers who could potentially help us in life at public events, we choose to stay “cool” and aura-farm, just like our favourite celebrities.
What we fail to understand is that these celebrities are in their quiet and cool era because they already made it. They got to that position through the exact opposite behaviour when they were still building themselves, being loud, approachable, humble, putting themselves out there, asking for help and building connections with people who eventually opened doors for them.
Instead of studying the early stages of their lives that got them to the position we admire today, we’re now copying their final stage.
We don’t want to build genuine connections like they did. We don’t want to be humble enough to approach people or ask for help. We just want to sit there, look cool and aura-farm, while making no meaningful connections in real life.
Their final stage is what we’re trying to emulate in our starting phase and it is costing us opportunities.
If you’re still trying to build your life, you need to understand that you cannot afford to move like someone who has already made it. You need people. You need connections. You need mentors. You need people who can introduce you to opportunities you would never find on your own.
Start greeting people. Start conversations. Approach strangers. Build genuine relationships. Be humble enough to ask questions and ask for help. Put yourself out there. You cannot do life alone.
Study the starting phase, not the final stage.
You’re not Wizkid.
You’re nobody.
You need help.
Connect with people.
