Following last night’s statements by President Vučić the UK Govt needs to urgently focus on the Balkans.

Almost a year since the Banjska attack there is still no justice, and despite the complicity of the Serbian state still no sanctions from the EU (only lithium and jet deals).

Vučić is invoking Putin’s playbook setting out what plans for the annexation of the north of Kosovo. Kosovo is a sovereign state.

The Balkans needs to move away from sectarian world views, the people of Northern Kosovo and Kosovo Serbs deserve better, not to be used as hostages and pawns in irredentist ambitions.
