📷 la-catharsis: Luis Ricardo Falero - The Witch (painted on a tambourine) (1882) Very nice! And interesting object to be beating in ceremonies! Do you use a tambourine? https://t.co/zBnZ3DS5wU
📷 I love this image showing Sorita d’Este and a couple of Priests of Hekate during the first Rite of Her Sacred Fires in 2010. How do you honour Hekate? https://t.co/nZgw25Dlve
This #Labrys decoration is from the Temple of the Goddess #Hekate in #Lagina.
It is a symbol associated with Zeus, closely linked to Crete (perhaps for its connection with Zeus) and is also used as a symbol for the Goddess, especially by Feminist #Witches.
Do you use it? How?
This was written in the book Hekate Liminal Rites way back in 2009 - a year before the #covenantofhekate and just around the time that the resurgence of interest in this phenomenal Goddess began to surface into the world.

Circle for Hekate Volume I is a journey through the myths and history of this fascinating Goddess. It is the ultimate reference work for witches and devotees looking to create their own ceremonies, providing insights from the past to fuel inspiration for the future. #hekate
"The Hymn to Hekate in the Theogony is a liminal point between the old regime (the Titans) and the new regime (the Olympians) with Zeus as the new ruler. Hekate is the bridge from the old to the new regime of Gods. " #circleforhekate by #soritadeste#goddess#hekate#hecate
