Afghan students have described the moment a missile hit their university. Officials blame Pakistan for the Kunar Province attack that killed at least 7 people. Pakistan denies responsibility, but in prior attacks has accused Taliban leaders of harbouring anti-Pakistan fighters.
This week marks the beginning of a new school year in Afghanistan. But girls above the age 12, including university students, remain banned.
They have now been out of school for more than 4 years.
📢 The Taliban must end their discriminatory policies and allow girls to return to school.

💬 #Zakharova: We are deeply concerned about the military confrontation between #Pakistan & #Afghanistan.
Once again, we strongly urge Islamabad and Kabul to abandon the dead-end course of confrontation & resolve the differences by political & diplomatic means.

We are deeply saddened by reports of attacks on a hospital in Kabul last night. We saw firsthand the devastating impact on civilians and the hospital, which has reportedly resulted in a large number of casualties.
Civilians and civilian infrastructure must never be targeted.
All parties must uphold their obligations under international humanitarian law to protect civilians and ensure their safety at all times.

I am very sad to read on TOLO News that some 400 Afghan civilians have been killed and hundreds injured. My condolences and sympathy for the affected families.
The massacre of Afghan civilians is the result of barbaric Pakistani air attacks on Kabul. The Afghan people are understandably outraged and the Afghan government is withdrawing its offer of negotiations. No doubt, it is also weighing its options for a response and probably also an escalation.
I call on the international community to condemn this vicious attack and provide humanitarian assistance to the victims.
I wish wisdom to the Taliban as they review their policies and make adjustments in light of the relentless attacks committed by the Pakistani establishment.
I can only hope that most decent Pakistanis are disappointed and even angry about the inhumane and reckless decision of their military leadership to kill and maim Afghan civilians in their name. Unfortunately, as developments in Pakistan demonstrate, the military leadership and its puppet government, do not care about their views.
