I don't believe artistic skill and "thirst-coding" are at odds in artwork. There is no line. I draw what i'm inspired to within my own or a clients parameters to meet both our expectations.

Whether it's sfw or nsfw is irrelevant. <3

[sophie d, @sky_c86]

@helbite @CovfefeChan The aesthetic leans heavily into a very specific, objectified fantasy. Where do you draw the line between showcasing artistic skill and fulfilling a specific client demand for a "thirst-coded" image?

i like when animation pricing discourse starts online because it becomes immediately clear nobody on this entire site knows how 2D animation works other than the animators themselves.

[🩸💀🖌️【 H Ɛ Ł 】Comms OPEN! @helbite]

The animation pricing discourse is just another example of people not understanding the work that goes into creating hand drawn art.

[Sato - CM Open @bigsatodontart]

it’s per second of animation dumbass, that’s $250 for like 12-24 drawings

[Hiokleo 💀🎟️🌸 Monster Vtuber @hiokleo]

Ex Animation Student here.
People who don't understand animation think this is expensive, it is not.
This artist is drawing 12 to 24 finished illustrations for 1 second of animation.
So 20$ to 10$ an illustration.

I'm addition, they are wearing many hats to get the final product done.
In the animation industry, no one is drawing a full animation start to finish.
The job is separated between; story board artists, key frame animators, filler frame animators, clean up and colorist.
This person is doing every job in their service and their pay is justified.

[PartiallyCatto 🏳️‍⚧️ @ClawsFurHire]

I swear we NEED to actually gatekeep non-artists from sharing their dogshit opinions on art more often.

It's NOT $15k for a minute OF WORK, it's $15k for a minute of ANIMATION, which assuming it's 12 FPS is 720 drawings, each drawing being $20 which is fucking abysmally low.

Update regarding community safety on VGen

UNETHICAL BROKERS:
Happy to say we’ve identified many previously unconfirmed JRUhub brokers, affiliates, and other unethical group accounts and they have all been banned for misrepresenting the nature of their profiles and services, intentionally inviting bad actors, and ban evading.

Big thank you to everyone in our community who has helped to investigate, report on-site, and provide detailed proof that our team were then able to review and take action on. Thank you for helping us keep the community safe!

REMAINING BROKERS:
In the short term, broker discovery has been rebalanced, their withheld funds processed through VGen Payments may not be released until after a commission is complete, and all brokers will continue to not have any invite codes. If any broker accounts mistype themselves as an individual or studio, they will now be suspended for at least 1 month immediately upon discovery.

We are still evaluating whether additional long-term actions are required.

Please do not assume all brokers are bad. However, if you do see suspicious behaviour, please continue to report them on-site and we will investigate.

ARTIST INVITE CODES:
There is now a hard limit of 2 unused artist invite codes per Verified Artist at any given time. If you earn more through a challenge or special event drop and you already have 2 in your dashboard, you won’t receive any more.

ARTIST CODE GIVEAWAYS:
Effective Nov 1, 2026, general contests, raffles, or applications are no longer allowed, even if recipients are screened. This is due to the increasing sophistication of groups who fraudulently misrepresent themselves as individuals.

If you see someone hosting a raffle or are in violation of our Artist Code Policy in any way, please report them on-site with a screenshot or link to their violating post and we’ll investigate. Their first offence will result in a warning before more severe administrative actions may be taken for repeated offences, including losing verification status and suspensions.

Please see our full VGen Artist Code Policy here: https://t.co/q2I6HV2f5Z

[Daddy Karulox @Karulox]

@OverwatchNaeri That Dva concept is stolen from a design I did in 2015

This is not just a random casualty it’s definitely a ripoff of my design adapted to Dva.
