BREAKING: Democratic star Rep. Jamie Raskin gives a brilliant, showstopping speech on the floor of the House about the Republican death cult built around guns.

Raskin said that Democrats "don't want to repeal the 2nd Amendment" but we DO "want them to read the 2nd Amendment" because the first part clearly states that a militia must be "well-regulated."

"The 2nd Amendment would ask us why we are allowing people to go into elementary schools, Walmarts, churches, and synagogues all over America with AR-15s sometimes with a stabilizing brace," said Raskin.

He said that we are allowing the "gun industry" to empower killers to "assassinate our people" and if a "foreign government" were responsible for as much death as gun manufacturers we would "declare war on them" and stop them from selling "weapons of mass destruction."

Raskin added that Republicans "say that the 2nd Amendment must be 'respected' in this strange and distorted way" because they have an "insurrectionist theory" that they have a right to overthrow the American government — even though the 2nd Amendment doesn't mention "anything about rebellion or insurrection."

It's time to stop the bloodshed. We need sane gun laws NOW.
