@ICT_MrP It’s not free- it’s underfunded. I’m a teacher and SENCO in maintained Nursery school- it’s not childcare, it’s education. Calling it childcare devalues the important work we do. Our whole sector is underpaid and undervalued.

@glurcher @ICT_MrP Also, the teachers aren’t doing a 4 day week, that 1 day at home for PPA will be really busy because there is so much more to teaching than the bit that’s with the children.

Serious question- what happens to 9mth olds who are put into childcare with poorly qualified staff?
I’m seriously worried that the next generation will not have the right support, care and education- this will impact on their future life chances and ultimately on our society.

@VickiRi40447172 @MichaelRosenYes Hi Vicki. We do the same- the children love to choose a prop from the bag and then we all sing the rhyme together.
We have songs for all different things and if we haven’t we’ll make one up! Singing with small children is important and really boosts engagement.
