It’s imperative that we revert to STANDARD, not Daylight time, for two reasons, one of which you may have never considered.
You know the first: solar noon is closest to 12 o’clock all year. That means an equal number of hours before and after noon each day.
This also means earlier sunrises which are significantly better for establishing a healthy circadian rhythm.
The second reason is that nearly ONE THIRD of US counties are in the wrong timezone.
A significant swath of the country isn’t only an artificial hour ahead because of daylight time… but TWO HOURS ahead of true solar time.
Year-round daylight time, especially without recalibrating time zones, would establish this error permanently, affecting millions of Americans.
We should be letting the Sun dictate the day the way God made it. Arbitrary, artificial tampering would be worse for us all.
Fix the time zones and affix standard time.
@HeartOTXHeartMD I was waiting to start my Ryan White HIV clinic at MUSC. No patients showed up. Administration sent out an email blast that the on campus free standing chapel would be open at noon. It was packed in there.
@JuliaMasonMD1@SwipeWright But the hospital is unfamiliar to me. I go up and down blind stairwells, and sometimes I haven’t rounded on my patients for days…
@JuliaMasonMD1@SwipeWright It’s about an anxiety dream! I have that same dream and I graduated over forty years ago! I have pretty much quit dreaming about college. I dream about trying to find the patients I should have already rounded on.
A Jacksonville officer, Antonio Richardson, is receiving nationwide praise after bodycam footage showed him talking down a young man about to jump off the Dames Point Bridge.
“We wear this badge for many reasons. The main reason is to reach those the devil thinks he has.”
@CardioNP@Papa_Heme I actually paid for an extra five days out of pocket so I could take ten days total therapy. And it was 1200 out of pocket. I’m ID; we’re always hand wringing and Redfield has never seen a case of long COVID after ten days therapy. Artificial virus; unknown long term SE; I’m old.
@ChrisKindaReads You might like the 50’s sci fi book The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester. It has been described as a reworking of The Count of Monte Christo.
@CardioNP@Papa_Heme Plus I figure a lowering of viral load lessens the chance of spread to the rest of my household, some of whom remain without a natural infection as far as we know.
@CardioNP@Papa_Heme Well, I’ve taken it twice and I did start feeling better within 12 hours of the first dose. With my initial infection I felt better within six hours. So when I catch it again, I’ll take it again.
@Papa_Heme I saw it once. I’d assumed the cytopenia was from her Keppra. Her mom kept telling her she was using too much denture fixative and she needed to get her Cu checked. I’m not heme but I checked it and nearly undetectable
