The “imaginary person” is why I decided to build this app. I spent years thinking I lacked discipline, when in reality I lacked a plan that expected my real life to show up.
@nunosans I hope so. I'm wondering if it goes the other way too, when everything starts to look kinda the same, the thoughtful details are the only thing people actually remember.
So I started walking very slowly toward my goals. One small habit at a time. I still have so many imperfect days, but doing the smallest version, or even nothing on heavy days, makes it so much easier to get back to it the next day.
For years I had an all or nothing mindset with my health. I failed so many times that the failures piled up until my physical and mental health hit a really low point. All or nothing was just speed running and hitting a wall.
Alright I guess I’m gonna have to start posting tweets to my five followers so I can get some attention for the app I’ve built. Any advice on how to go about it?

@DevAfter5 That mindset shift is everything. Not treating a skip as the streak dying, just starting again the next day. I'm kinda building around that idea too, that getting back matters more than never missing.
@parmita The Rick Rubin comparison is interesting. I'm wondering if intuition is just taste that had years of input before anyone saw it. Feels even more important now that AI makes the making part cheap.
@pauliusztin_ This matches what I saw in QA for years. Flaky tests were never just annoying, they slowly teach everyone to ignore red. Agents just learn that habit way faster than people did.
I've been thinking about what to teach my kids now that knowledge is kinda automated. What keeps coming to mind is curiosity, creativity, and just experiencing the full human experience. Those feel like the things AI can't hand them.
@Shubham_iosdev Curious what surprised you most designing for two screens? I feel like with a new form factor the hard part is deciding what not to put on the second one.
Listened to another AI doom conversation yesterday. I get the concern, but I'm not sure "we're all gonna die" is solving anything. It mostly creates fear and uncertainty. I wish more of these talks spent the time on possible solutions instead.
One thing I stopped doing: expecting perfection the first time. Cooking for my family, work, building something new.
I realized perfection actually comes through iterations. The first version just has to exist.
@tomfgoodwin I've tracked my sleep for 7 or 8 years and the Apple score feels way off compared to AutoSleep. For me how I feel when I wake up is the real tell. 5 hours with enough deep sleep beats 8 hours with none. I'm not sure 8 hours is the whole story, quality matters more.
