Good to see a clear focus on improving women’s mental health from the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
✅ accurate language and use of word “woman”
✅ accurate definition of woman in line with Equality Act and Supreme Court
✅ focus on women throughout the lifecycle including puberty, pregnancy, post-partum and menopause
✅ focus on addressing VAWG and providing trauma informed care
✅ calls for single sex accommodation accross all mental health inpatient settings, with focus on PICU (psychiatric intensive care) as a starting point

@sharrond62 I wrote to Unison, highlighting the backwards step for women & girls and how doing this is to the detriment of their own majority members. Their response: "Thank you for your feedback, UNISON will take your comments into consideration." Glad I'm not a member.
BETRAYED AND FURIOUS
Many women in Wales 🏴 report feeling politically homeless.
Having previously allied themselves with 'progressive' parties, they now find that would mean signing up to give away their single-sex spaces, fair sports, their children's safety and wellbeing - even the language of their sex.

Voting for Plaid controlled by the Greens is NOT an improvement on the decades of Labour being propped up by Plaid.
Certainly not for the women and girls of Wales.
Your vote has power. Use it wisely.

If you're in Cardiff tomorrow midday, please come and say hello to us at our Queen Street pop up stall in the city centre.
Throughout the 40-day Red Flower Festival, @WomensRightsNet are holding street stalls across the UK in recognition of the plight of women and girls living under the brutal Taliban regime in Afghanistan.
We have handmade red tulips gifts and leaflets full of beautiful, inspiring poetry written by our Afghan sisters.

A joyous evening with Miles Hunt @mileshuntTWS at The Gate Cardiff, as always, a superb raconteur treating us to many tales of Wonder Stuff adventures and explorations. Oh and some brilliant music! Wonder Stuff 40th anniversary tour imminent (& a big birthday?) Thanks Milo! 👏❤️
The conversation went something like this …
Woman: Why do you think women don’t need single sex spaces?
Peredur Griffiths: Plaid will take time to “work though it”
Woman: How will Plaid do that if they are campaigning for the opposite?
Peredur Griffiths: The Supreme Court judgment is complicated and 80 pages long!
Woman: It’s been in place for a year and if you can’t read and understand 80 pages in a year you have no right to be in government.
Peredur Griffiths: It’s difficult as trans men look like men so how do you manage that?
Woman: Are you seriously suggesting that because some women looked like men we should have
actual men in our spaces?
Peredur Griffiths: We will have to agree to disagree.

Remember when @Keir_Starmer@bphillipsonMP@YvetteCooperMP and @DavidLammy were telling us we all had to watch Adolescence?
Well, we have a recommendation for them – “Storyville: Speechless”
This one’s a documentary, though. It features REAL events that happened to REAL people.
It only covers a tiny fraction of what we’ve been put through. The full story would take far too long.
But it does join up the dots between the suppression of free speech, the loss of academic freedom and the damage done to women’s rights that has resulted because reality has been abandoned in favour of ideology. (And yes, a lot of men have been damaged as well as women).
So, thank you for showing “Storyville: Speechless”, @BBC (Although, in fairness, it is your job and it’s about time you put aside your policy of #NoDebate)

SHOCK SENEDD ELECTION NEWS! 🚨
NOT ALL VOTERS DESERVE REPRESENTATION SAYS CANDIDATE
If you’re a Welsh voter making up your mind who should represent your interests in the Senedd, would you vote for a candidate who says they’ll only represent their “community”, - and who says that doesn’t mean you?
Wherever you are in Wales, before you choose your representative, make sure they’re prepared to represent YOU.

To make it clear, this constituent has only asked reasonable questions about the rights of women and girls, rights to which they are legally entitled.
❗️Women’s and girls' changing rooms to be for women and girls only.
❗️Women’s and girls’ sport to be for women and girls only.
❗️School toilets to be single-sex.
❗️Children not to be taught they are in the ‘wrong body’.
❗️Senedd documents to use correct language and reflect reality.
They're asking about a position supported by the majority of the Welsh electorate.
So what reply did they receive? You'll be as shocked as us.

Wales votes 7 May 2026 🏴
In 1929, women cast their ballots in a UK general election for the first time. Nearly a century on, major parties standing in next month's election are actively pledging to strip women and girls of the legal standing conferred on them by UK law.
We shouldn't simply rage at the contempt shown by Welsh political elites hoping to succeed where Scotland's failed last year.
We should be clear-eyed about what awaits Wales: a devolved government prepared to flout the law, irrevocably harm our children, and drain the time and energy of grassroots women's networks - women who have considerably more important things to do than re-fight a battle that was settled over a year ago.
The general public have better things to do than babysit tedious timewasting in a Senedd that just cost a fortune to refurbish.
Your vote has power. Use it wisely.

A photographic (and video) reflection 🧵
Last Saturday, WRN Wales were at the One Year Later event in Cardiff, marking the first anniversary of the Supreme Court judgment.

Senedd elections take place on 7th May 2026.
The rights of women merit some attention, especially when it comes to electing the representatives who are meant to uphold our rights. If they don't respect our sex, they don't deserve our X.
This thread 🧵will look at the party manifestos as they are published, and the commitments they make (or don't make) to our rights.
We'll be adding more manifestos and their commitments - or lack of, as they are published. Keep an eye on this thread!

“Today, women are gathering in Westminster, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester, Belfast, Plymouth, and Houghton-le-Spring, because once again, the government is ignoring women’s voices and prioritising the feelings of men — a very small subset of men, but men nonetheless - over the rights of women.”
We’re back! And we will speak!
Regardless of angry men in dresses shouting at us.
Let the good people in Cardiff see this and draw the only conclusion possible. We are right and the law agrees.
Wales votes 7th May 2026 🏴
Denying women female carers isn't progressive. It's a safeguarding failure.
Voters deserve a clear commitment from every Senedd candidate:
Will you guarantee that same-sex intimate care is the default for all female patients, in hospital and at home? Yes or No.

In anticipation of @weddingpresent's return to Cardiff @TramshedCF this evening 🎊, a few pics from a few weeks ago at @ShiiineOn_ The David Gedge Duo powering through the lurgy with a fantastic set-no, we have certainly not seen an acoustic guitar played quite like that before!
