There's a whole 2 hours of movie that shows Yugi being independent and strong and defying Kaiba's insistence that he needs the Pharaoh back.

That matters way more than the magical resolution to a life or death card game.

If you can't accept that Yugi's story is a very reasonable "moving on" character arc just because a magical pharaoh appears for 60 seconds to do a thing Yugi was about to do anyway, I dunno what to tell you.
