$HNT just doubled.
Helium ripped from about $0.21 to ~$0.42 on Aug 29 — roughly +80% to +100% in 24 hours, ~+100% on the week, and ~+130% on the month.
Volume exploded to $35M–$50M+, more than half the market cap. Cap jumped toward ~$75–80M. Shorts got squeezed.
This is not a random altcoin candle.
The spark: Celina, Texas — the fastest-growing U.S. city over 20,000 people (+24.6% in a year). They turned city Wi-Fi they already owned (library, senior center, downtown shops) into carrier coverage. No new towers. Phones connect automatically. Those sites are already moving ~100 GB/day.
Traders didn’t buy 100 gigabytes. They bought the template: cities can flip existing Wi-Fi into cell service, and $HNT is the token that settles that traffic.
Stay honest: HNT is still ~85% down on the year and ~99% below the 2021 ATH near $55. This is a violent bounce, not a new cycle high.
Why the token actually matters
Helium launched July 29, 2019. No pre-mine. First product: LoRaWAN IoT. 2021 was a hotspot gold rush and Proof-of-Coverage farming. Then the crash, HIP-51, and the April 18, 2023 move to Solana.
The product that survived is Wi-Fi carrier offload: phone sees a Helium AP → offloads automatically → carrier pays → HNT is burned for Data Credits → deployers earn.
That’s how real carrier traffic uses the network. Helium sold the consumer MVNO to Noble Mobile in 2026 and kept the infrastructure layer. The SEC’s unregistered-securities claims against HNT were dismissed with prejudice.
Under this pump: • HIP-149 ties Mobile pay to real usage ($0.05/GB floor). PoC-as-welfare is being retired. • Offload was repriced to commercial rates ($0.10/GB). Traffic held. • Mobile is ~99% of protocol revenue. ~2.88M daily users. 40,000+ U.S. locations.
The loop that makes HNT powerful
Usage forces a burn. Data Credits are USD-pegged and created by destroying HNT. Halvings run on a 2-year schedule (7.5M/year as of Aug 2025). Circulating supply is ~186M.
Deployers build coverage → phones use it → carriers pay → HNT burns → useful Hotspots get paid → more coverage gets built.
That’s a work token on physical infrastructure.
The 2021 crowd bought a map that turned green. The 2026 crowd is buying whether phones leave a tower and land on a people’s Hotspot.
Not financial advice. Read the HIPs.

Very concerning- FSD disengages consistently & forces driver to take over SB 101 before Hollywood Blvd exit (Los Angeles) - FSD no longer available for rest of drive. This Happened 4 times already at exact same location. Map issue? HW4 Model Y
This has to be one of the most based statements I’ve ever heard from a very knowledgeable trader.
This is the Trading Game.
Keep emotions out of it. How? Size trades smaller or you WILL eventually blow your account!
--As a trader part of what you're trying to do is extract $$ from the greed and panic of other market participants.
--If you don't have a good trade plan eventually you may become the one overcome by greed or panic...
LA City Council meeting Wednesday, 11/12 at 10am.
They want to cap rent increases at 1.8% while water bills are up 20%+. This is taking of private property & they won’t stop at real estate. It will discourage builders from investing, hiring, and building new housing. This means less jobs and tax revenue for LA.
