@SSeeley92 I realize now that Leslie Nielsen was thinking worst case scenario was Columbo showing up, so I understand why he was so freaked by what actually went down.
@Stretchedwiener I was young but I remember the musical sting 'J - C - Penney's!' which may or may not have actually existed. Did they change to 'JCPenney' to stand out from Mervyn's? Mervyn's obviously couldn't follow suit, cuz a department store named 'Mervyn' would be very off-putting I think.
@agraphafx I got to see it *once* on first release, and had to otherwise be satisfied with Captain Cosmic clips, memory, Hardware Wars, Life day Special, Bill Murray lounge singer, Disco Star Wars, and yes that awesome soundtrack album.
Steam payouts are very consistent, but there's a lag time of a month, so after initial release you are not getting anything until the end of the following month, minus returns and Steam cut. Even if you're a hit, ya still gotta wait, and hopefully stocked up on groceries!
This is what our company bank balance looked like before/after we launched Forbidden Solitaire. We launched on the last day of April and got paid at the end of May for that single day. The next spike is for all of May.
Anyway, we were totally down to the wire as you can see.
Who were the four most powerful individuals in history?
Bertrand Russell: โIf I had to select four men who have had more power than any others, I should mention Buddha and Jesus Christ, Pythagoras and Galileo.
No one of the four had much success in his own lifetime. No one of these four had the support of the State until after his beliefs and propaganda had achieved a great measure of success. No one of the four would have affected human life as he has done if power had been his primary object. No one of the four sought the kind of power that enslaves others, but the kind that sets them freeโin the case of the first two, by showing how to master the desires that lead to strife, and thence to defeat slavery and subjection; in the case of the second two, by pointing the way towards control of natural forces.
It is not ultimately by violence and war that men are ruled, but by the wisdom of those who appeal to the common desires of mankind, for happiness, for inward and outward peace, and for the understanding of the world in which by no choice of our own, we have to live.โ
I once joked about this back when twitter existed and a Twitter Dominatrix told me that she'd done it plenty of times.
