It's like, even if he's hurt and they hate him, he's still and will be there for them.

Imagine the locket waiting for Stolas when he's ready (S3E5 ending), and when the locket is opened or used, it holds some of his mom's memories or maybe just her voice, and has a message for Stolas.

And that's when 'What Went Wrong' happens.
