We are pleased to introduce the faculty for the 2nd EHS Robotic Odyssey, taking place on 12–13 March in Amsterdam at the Amsterdam Skills Centre.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn from and work closely with three highly experienced surgeons and educators in robotic hernia surgery:

🔹 Dr. Ihsan Inan – internationally recognised expert in minimally invasive and robotic hernia surgery
🔹 Dr. David Lourie – pioneer in robotic surgery with a strong focus on structured training, safety, and hands-on learning
🔹 Dr. Jonathan Douissard – Senior clinical fellow in intestinal failure and abdominal reconstructive surgery, and extensive experience in robotic surgery and training.
🔹 Dr. Knut Borch – EHS Education Secretary, with extensive experience in advanced hernia surgery and surgical education

The faculty team ensures a course with a strong educational focus, extensive hands-on training, close mentor feedback, and clear relevance to daily clinical practice.

🕯️ In Memory of Professor Hans Jeekel

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Professor Hans Jeekel, a true pioneer in hernia surgery and a visionary in our field.

It was an honour to award him with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the EHS Congress in Paris last June—one final tribute to a career that shaped generations.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who were inspired by his work.

In 2024, we recorded 99 citations from 78 published papers—a reflection of the growing impact and quality of our community’s research.
