Even though Texas won, this was head-scratching. As a Texas fan, I still don’t understand it. Take the clock to 12 seconds and then you have two plays the score from the half yard line with a timeout to call after the first one. Glad it didn’t end up mattering but still a poor decision.

@JoshPateCFB I agree with this take as long as you’re appropriately weighting quality wins against quality losses. Texas should have been more in the discussion with ND, Bama and Miami. Texas beat two teams in the CFP field plus Vandy and lost to #2 and #3 on the road. Miami and ND beat none.

Internet trolling and propaganda aside.. I get Texas missing the playoff. The loss to Florida was horrific and the wins against Mississippi st and Kentucky were nasty..

The one thing I don’t get is putting so much value in a bad loss that it cancels good wins..

The one team that has a high chance of getting in that I don’t agree with is Notre Dame.. they have zero unranked losses, but they have zero top 15 wins.

If you’re sending teams to play against top rated teams wouldn’t how they perform against top rated teams hold more weight?

If you took 2 of Texas’ wins against CURRENT top 13 teams to cancel out their Florida loss they still have 1 more than Notre Dame lol.

A very good win should make up for a very bad loss.

SOS is suppose to be a big factor and ND at 1 less loss while playing the 42nd toughest schedule in the country shouldn’t be a lock.

At the end of the day putting it in the committees hands by losing to Florida is your own fault but I can’t tell if everyone genuinely thinks your win don’t matter after a bad loss or just saying it cause it’s Texas.

(If ND gets in over Miami when their resumes are so close and Miami won the H2H this whole thing is a sham)

If we are all being honest with ourselves, Notre Dame doesn't belong anywhere near the College Football Playoffs. They started 0-2 and then built a 10-2 record by playing 0...ZERO...Top 15 teams the rest of the year. On top of that, they don’t even have to risk a 3rd Loss since they don’t play a Conference Championship. Who wouldn't sign up for that sweet deal of a season? Purdue, Arkansas, Boise St, NC St, USC, Boston College, Navy, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Stanford, then No Conference Championship. 😂 What are we doing @CFBPlayoff?
