You actually reduce crime by eliminating poverty. You reduce crime with universal healthcare, public housing, livable wages, and free college. You reduce violence by creating happy, healthy communities that aren’t constantly fighting over basic needs and material resources.
Eslake says it’s "not true" that rents will rise as a result of Labor’s CGT changes. Calls the 1980s comparison a 'latter-day' Goebbels tactic: "If you tell a lie often enough...it becomes accepted as the truth."💥💯#auspol
SInce the Budget the ASX is up 4%, bond yields are down 20bps.
Markets have a different view from the self-centred nutters arguing against mild tax reform
Prominent economist Saul Eslake demolishes LNP’s ‘aspiration’ myth saying their 1999 CGT discount failed to build a nation of entrepreneurs & shareholders, in fact, those rates only fell since 1999, while “disproportionately favouring richer & older Australians”💥 #auspol
After Japan battled the Netherlands to a 2-2 draw, the Japanese fans stayed behind and cleaned up every single piece of trash from their section at Dallas Stadium after the game.
You LOVE to see it 🇯🇵
@karlstefanovic Great idea Karl. Let’s have an election every time governments do something that’s not universally praised.
We could just make it a weekly event to ease the administrative issues. Sausage sales would lift the economy. We’d all have an excuse to get out of the house on Saturday.
This is a heat map illustrating the feelings of patriotic Australians who want to FIRE THE GRIFTER.
It proves you’re not alone in your support of ousting Australia’s worst Senator who tells countless lies, can’t cost a policy, does what the elites tell her, and idolises Trump.
@KingGrover1974@GregMarSci@CorruptNSW I respect absolutely your right to choose. I just disagree with your assessment. The economy hasn’t collapsed. Planes are still full of travellers, people are still eating out. Our biggest problem is tax evasion by those powerful enough to afford lawyers. Norway shows the way.
@GregMarSci@aaronsmith Yes, we all remember Gina standing before a crowd of mainly elderly pensioners, urging them on in cries of “axe the tax”. Couldn’t have pensioners getting better benefits while there are greater corporate profits to be made.
Sadly, they fell for it, against their own interests.
Just a reminder that in those “good old days” we miss, unions were strong, the rich paid big taxes, and people were socially responsible and got vaccinated.
Don’t listen to anyone who wants to convince you this was a bad thing. It’ll be a rich person trying to feather his nest.
@karlstefanovic Is that why consumer confidence has risen since the budget?
Karl, this new venture of yours is probably a money-spinner, but you’re getting a reputation of taking one side. If you’re a serious journalist, change tack. Legacy styles are dying.
@Matt_Camenzuli Yes, what’s the country coming to when we fritter away our hard earned dollars on fripperies like hospitals, roads, schools, health care and infrastructure.
Not everyone lives a privileged life Hughesy. Try talking to real people, not compliant media.
@Melbourne_says@MSMWatchdog2013 Nothing says “I’m for the battlers” like a cocktail party fundraiser 🙄
At least she’s now coming out publicly to indicate whose side she’s really on.
I hope those battlers are actually listening. She’s their worst nightmare in reality.
@AngusTaylorMP This nonsense just doesn’t wash. Least of all with those who work at jobs that are physically hard but poor in remuneration. We all do our bit. We just want to see a system that doesn’t skew all the benefits to those who already have a lot.
Listen to the last 2 election results.
@PeterCronau@redsteve50 If it comes with a generous 6-figure salary, a free plane and no requirement to actually do the job I’m paid for, I’m all in.
Otherwise, thanks but no thanks.
