When I was a child, I didn’t like one of my eyes very much.
It was because of a legend passed down in our family.

“One born with the Special Eye shall rule over the cold.”

Because of that prophecy, people placed upon me expectations far too great.
Yet at that time, I had nothing that could even be called swordsmanship.

I was ashamed of myself for not meeting their hopes,
and the more I failed, the more I resented this eye.
How could such an old legend… bind me so tightly?

But… what allowed me to endure all that pain
was the constant presence of my brother at my side.

Day after day, I would collapse after training that burned my body to the core.
And through it all, my brother never once stopped watching over me.
At last, I was recognized by the family.

And then… that day,
he pointed to my eye and said—
that it was as beautiful as a jewel.

From that moment on,
I never again resented this eye.
I only… wish I could hear those words once more.

The truth is... I fear the market.
To be precise,
it's because of that alley I must pass through whenever I go to the market.
A small doll shop in the right alley, in the center of town.
That place is, I dare say...
a small paradise overflowing with cuteness.

At first, it was by chance.
Just a small shop I happened to pass by.
But at some point,
that shop became the culprit that emptied my wallet five times.

Dolls piled up and up in my room.
No more space to put them, and honestly, no budget either.
Yet despite that, the shop owner always
spots me with sharp eyes.

"New stock has arrived.
I haven't shown it to anyone yet."
...That one line. That one tempting phrase,
and I turn my steps back once again.

My mouth clearly says it.
This time, I absolutely won't fall for it...
But when I open my eyes, somehow I'm
standing in front of that small shop.

Now, at least the location of that shop...
is crystal clear in my mind.
