All through my 3 years of junior secondary education in Abuja whenever my results didn’t make sense and my mum was about to start SHOUTING or get angry, he would sit me down and ask what happened. If I didn’t talk he would start bringing suggestions till I spoke

A good number of African parents will beat you & not proceed to help you/ find out what happened to make you perform poorly. There was even indications dat the boy hadn’t been going to school.
A proverb says “you beat a child with the left & use the right hand to draw him near”

I have also seen different reactions to the slaps the father was giving the boy.
See, the truth is that it’s very painful and annoying to spend so much and your child just waste it like that.
He was very justified.

The truth and fact is that Math & English are core subjects and without them it’ll be hard to obtain even the most basic jobs.

However, quickly digressing to the viral video of the boy whose father is passing an equivalent of 8 million Naira in #Zambia at Secondary level but failed his exams and passed only Music.
