When Sierra LaMar's accused killer returns to court for a retrial this month, prosecutors are barred from telling the new jury that he planned to kidnap and murder the 15-year-old Morgan Hill girl.

LaMar vanished in 2012 while she was walking to her school bus stop. Her body has never been found.

A legal analyst said, "Because the last trial was so long ago, the prosecution is going to have to dust off their files and try to get ready for a very complex murder case with no crime scene, no weapon, and no body. This could be very difficult."
