How Michael taught his kids manners and values:
“He was still tiny, maybe three or four years old. I said, "Good evening Prince, welcome home, it's nice to see you again." He didn't say anything, but kept on walking. Then Michael stopped, walked back, took Prince by the hand and said, "Prince, Violet said good evening to you". Of course I am feeling very bad at that moment, but I really appreciated that he was teaching his children that everyone was the same. And as embarrassed as I felt, I also felt quite humbled that Michael took the time to very gently show his son that everyone is important especially when they are greeting you.”
I managed to add English subtitles to this interview as accurately as I could.
Bill talks about retiring and moving to France. He retired soon after this but stayed in LA. Michael kept him on the payroll and helped with his medical bills, though sadly they didn’t see much of each other in his later years.
