Exactly 5 years today, I left the shores of Nigeria for Barcelona, Spain, naive & unaware of what the future holds. No, I didn’t travel with absolute uncertainty, that’ll be far off from the truth, I landed knowing that the Monday after, I’ll be paid a €4000 relocation allowance, with the certainty of €1,000 monthly for the next 2years.
While I’ll continue to be thankful to the EU via the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, I’m glad I’ve reciprocated by contributing my quota in improving & increasing the workforce quota in the EU after my education which include opportunities with three Fortune 500 companies including my current engagement with a leading Pharmaceutical company in the world as a Supply Chain Process Manager, call it “Mutualism” & you will not be wrong.
This privilege would have been impossible without the free/subsidized education I received from Igboora high School, The Polytechnic Ibadan & FUTA. It’s my hope & prayer that the country gets better even as we celebrate the 66th today.
God, please bless Nigeria.
