bee hotels can easily be made by drilling various sizes of holes into blocks of wood or bundles of sticks

make sure to place them somewhere in the shade, where they won't be knocked over, and angle them so rain water won't be pouring in

most bees in the UK are solitary, they live in wee tunnels/burrows in trees, the ground, plants and even holes in fences

their habitats are continually under threat, so as it gets colder, consider building a bee hotel to support them
