I think this ALL the time, especially the part about how church members are expected to be giving of their time when still working other jobs. It's not to say that shouldn't be expected, it should be. But being paid to be a professional Christian is a different world.

I (briefly) dated a guy who was brilliant and Reformed, loved the Lord and thought deeply. He was kind and I enjoyed him. As we were getting to know one another, I mentioned that I was much more "liberal" than he was. "No, no, no," he said, "I'm sure it's fine."

This guy was convinced we believed the same things, that this was not a deal-breaker. He was prepared to marry me ("I want you to be my wife and the mother of my children!"). The amount of denial of reality in this area is still astounding to me.
