This actually makes loads and loads of sense.

Aemond sees himself as the “ruler” over Westeros in a sense and he certainly sees himself as the head of family. Ewan said it himself in the article that came out today. Aemond sees himself as a “father figure” of sorts in their family now. That’s a huge plot point in Oedipus itself. People always jump to the “oh momson fucking” in Oedipus bc it’s the most controversial and discussed topic in the entire story but there’s a lot more to it than just a son wanting to fuck his mother. Ewan could easily be referring to Aemond being an “Oedipus” like character in more than one way.

i do think its time the early alimond adopters got their kudos bc they were calling this whole trajectory back in s1 with that aegon search party scene in alicent's chambers. everyone booed them but look at them now!
