@liampbjray@HussamAfton op literally backed up this rhetoric by saying that body hair is rooted in “smelling like shit.” Straight up evidence that marketing conditions society to view body hair as such
@SugarDadEngels@HussamAfton Well no, because the shoe industry hasn’t spent decades exploiting off womens’ bodies and repacking it as “unhygienic” while simultaneously reinforcing harmful beauty standards distorting society’s perception of women
@liampbjray@HussamAfton I know, hence why I said it’s rooted. If the patriarchy never advertised body hair as unhygienic or “masculine” then it wouldn’t be subjected to stigmatization
@liampbjray@HussamAfton Of course you can, but the social stigmatization surrounding body hair is influenced by patriarchy and it is ignorant to deny that
@pickleblythe But “misandry” is a natural response to misogyny, prejudice and oppression. Of course identifying as a misandrist is anti-feminist, but someone’s distaste for men because of patriarchy is 100% justifiable
@Gutsphobic@fenceurs I’m aware of that, and I’m not trying to restrict it to only women. I define it that way because of the ties lesbianism has to feminine aligned non-binary identities, gender nonconformity, womanhood and their love for others of the similar identity, implicating the inclusion.
@fenceurs The watered down definition of lesbian is reinforcing misogynistic rhetoric and lesbophobia by appropriating it to be palatable for men. Lesbianism’s modern definition isn’t inclusive, and is just an attempt to include men in a female-exclusive identity.
@fenceurs Saying this as someone who is non-binary, I found it misogynistic that lesbianism is defined as “non-man loving non-man” while male homosexuality is just defined as man loving man. I’ve never heard it defined as non-woman loving non-woman.
@coreblud I’d say lesbian, but that varies depending on your attraction toward non-binary. Such as if you prefer dating a feminine identity or masculine.
