@asillylittlepal My current (they change sometimes) Letterboxd Top 4 are Y Tu Mamá También, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (watch seasons 1-2 of the TV show first!), Mysterious Skin, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind :)
@frombwtocolor Funnily enough I’ve written “Doctor Who fan-favourite episodes” on the suggestions board at PCC a number of times… no luck yet 😔 if enough of us suggest it, maybe we can make it happen! They screen all of Twin Peaks there annually which is glorious
@BadFilmTakes1@juliesacunt Another run that I think rivals Season 2a and Season 2 finale/FWWM/start of Season 3 is S3E15-18; that string of episodes is insane and, in my opinion at least (I can understand why they could be controversial), the perfect conclusion to the show
@BadFilmTakes1@juliesacunt Agreed! Although I’m mixed on Ep 9. Loved first time, but on repeats I wish it spelled things out less. Leland’s sympathetic ending didn’t sit right with me (or with Lynch either, it seems, since he walked it back in FWWM with the blurring of Bob and Leland)
@BadFilmTakes1@juliesacunt Hard agree! I think instances in early S2 are up there too, and because they’re sporadic they make your blood run cold when they hit. IMO, the endings of S2E1 and S2E7 are both so haunting and disturbing, they kind of cracked open the door that was then thrown wide open in S2E22
@pasdecmbyn Gotcha. As horrible as it is, I appreciated that MS (book and film) didn’t shy away from COCSA, as it’s something rarely even discussed. Not to mention the depictions of cycles of abuse taking root in both. Laura, Neil, and Brian are each such heartbreaking, important characters.
@ripleyesque@buckleydiazed I find it veeeery interesting that in the original script for Buck’s coming out scene, Eddie was going to say “I love you, brother” and Buck would say it back… but then they made a point to cut those lines
@katierozes Yeah, sadly seems possible. Especially if the network has gotten cold feet with things happening in the industry/country. Let’s hope they’re able to tell the story they want to tell. It’s really the most natural place to take their characters after what was set up in S7-8.
@katierozes Totally agree! When you say “or had” - do you think it’s likely that they’ve decided not to go in that direction? After what they set up with 8x06, 8x11 (and arguably 8x17), that’d be kind of crazy.
@aurorafolklore What you’re describing is a lot like Nick and Jess’ first kiss in New Girl, and I’d love if they did that! Could be an all-timer. My question is, who would be the Nick in that scene? I’d personally love if Eddie was. https://t.co/Hpmn9ru00v
@clareellenhope@PresenterAlex Good shout! Yeah, those middle rows are awful. I’ve sat in them a few times and spend the whole time either peeking around someone to see the screen or slouching painfully to not block the person behind me haha
@clareellenhope@PresenterAlex I’m still figuring out best places to sit in the downstairs screen- so far, strangely my best experience has been in the front row! Which would you say are the “absolutely not” rows?
@LFFstubs Trying this again as no luck so far... double booked and looking for tickets to either PILLION on the 18th or THE VOICE OF HIND RAJAB on the 16th or 18th. Can buy face value tickets or trade for other films I have! See below the other tickets I have.
