A very serious warning to anybody thinking about building their own email delivery service: don't do it. Every email that ends up in spam is lost revenue and opportunity for you. Getting deliverability right is extremely hard and it's not something you should vibe code.

If your platform sends email on behalf of your customers, you're probably asking each of them to add your ESP's DNS records so they can send from their own domain.

Nothing wrong with that on day one. But what happens when you want to switch ESPs? 🧵

The alternative: instead of your ESP's records, have customers add NS records that delegate a subdomain to nameservers you control. From then on, you can add, remove, or change any record underneath it without the headache of a major customer-facing project.

If you're building a platform that allows your users to send email, one spammy customer (eek!) shouldn't take down all your other customers.

With Channels in Helo, you can separate your customers sending and catch spammers before they cause issues.
