The average kidney transplant lasts 10-12 years. For young patients, that can mean 3, 4, or 5 transplants in their lifetime. The Implantable Bioartificial Kidney is designed to be a permanent solution to kidney failure.

Last week, the Premier said the quiet part out loud. His choice to drop restrictions in the summer, wasn't driven by public health information, but by backroom conversations with conservative leaders, and an economic gamble. What a costly decision.

Great to see @hemohero2017 advocating again, but what a shame she has to.
There are 36,000 (!) people waiting for surgery - in pain, in deteriorating health - on the Sask Party’s watch.

Funny @MerrimanPaul had nothing to say financially about the fourth wave when I talked to him. Apparently we had all the tools we needed in place to handle the 4th & any other waves that came our way.
"Health Minister Paul Merriman said the dollars are needed for the “massive fourth wave,” which he says wasn’t anticipated."
Dishonest, revisionist history from this Health Minister.
They were warned in June. They ignored warnings.

Get my 2nd booster on Tues. @PremierScottMoe@MerrimanPaul 4 times I’ve done my part in protecting myself and everyone around me.I haven’t got covid. My unit’s on outbreak.I rapid test everyday&wear a gown to dialysis.Leading the anti vax 4-0.Still don’t qualify for transplant
BC’s transplant stats from 2021.can’t find SK’s but we’re wistfully behind. Sept 2021 transplant program suspension resulted many preventable deaths and opportunities.@MerrimanPaul told me he would raise more awareness on transplants…I am waiting #OptOutDonorProgram#GiftOfLife
@Lloydguy82@MerrimanPaul@PremierScottMoe Life threatening or not why are we being put on the back burner? Living in pain &fear our health will take a turn for the worst. @MerrimanPaul@PremierScottMoe this July my life span will be cut in half due to 5 years on dialysis. I am 25 &likely won’t outlive my parents
Doesn’t matter if our numbers are the lowest. A death is a death. Why are we making this a competition? Does this include everyone that has died waiting for a surgery or transplant? those numbers are very relevant in contributing to SK statistics
While we are seeing a lot of COVID-19 cases now in Saskatchewan, our hospitalizations, ICU admissions and COVID-19 related deaths remain significantly lower than other provinces that have strict lockdown policies in effect.

Saying it louder one more time for the people in the back: HOSPITALIZATIONS AND DEATHS ARE A LAGGING INDICATOR.
Pretending not to understand that fact at this point in the pandemic does not let you off the hook for the lives you’ve endangered.
So let’s suspend a whole transplant program when everyone should’ve just self isolated and worked from home? Come to dialysis and see how “fine” we’re all feeling. @Lloydguy82@Sask_NDP@SaskHealth@MerrimanPaul
I tested positive this morning for COVID-19 on a rapid antigen test.
I’m feeling fine, but will be self-isolating and working from home for the next five days.
