We don’t always get to pick and choose the moments where we make a difference. We don’t always know the conversations that students will remember. As educators, we should never underestimate our impact. We might not know when...and we might not know how...but it’s always there.
You don’t have to be an administrator, grade level chair, or department head to be a leader in you school. Your title doesn’t matter. You just need to care about making it better.
Passion and commitment can transform any culture.
If there's ever a time that we need to focus on our students mental & emotional health, it is now. Think of everything they've endured already & its only June! Now is not the time to cut The Arts, PE, counselors! Congress needs to step up & support our schools, teachers & kids!
Educators, ask yourself this: In what ways have I silenced or disregarded the voices of my students? What would the scholars in my school protest about at my school?
Kindergarten and work from home has been a struggle (to put it lightly), but we’re still trying to find ways to keep it interesting and fun. Today, we used water balloons to practice sight words!
When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, & I told them they didn't understand Life."-John Lennon

Students try to find various ways to use fraction pattern blocks & combine them to make one whole (represented by the hexagon). How could you use this POW to engage all students in the mathematics? Reply using #NCTMResources. #iTeachMath#MTBoS https://t.co/K8aTA6oTqQ
@MaeganTubbs @PrinceEa I was always the student who wouldn’t raise their hand because I didn’t want to say the wrong answer. I agree that education should promote advocacy for self care and mental health. This video was amazing. #UABEEC301SUM20
My goal is to help my students connect the dots, not just to memorize them. This video made me realize it is our job to see our students by their hard work! Not by their scores, not by their participation, but by the potential that each student has. #UABEEC301SUM20@PrinceEa
It has been said that, “Knowledge is power.” But in the age of Google, knowledge can be cheap. What is powerful… is the ability to create it, evaluate it, apply it, and collaborate with others to capitalize on it.
