@LBrookePowers Growing up I didn’t know there was another way to divide fractions. Then my 5th yr teaching & my 3rd district to be in, I learned you could divide fractions with Common Denominators. What method do you use when you teach dividing fractions?

@DrDIborg @WonderTeach Normally I wore button downs and khakis or Polo’s and Khakis and I have worn the blazer, button down, and khaki combo a few times.
@DrDIborg @WonderTeach We have a no-Jean policy, unless it is a special event, because it wasn’t professional. So I wore dark blue jeans, a button down, and a blazer purposely on the day our Supe was to walk the halls. Every S asked why I was so dressed up that day. Supe didn’t notice. Principal = 😡
@imtryingringo@HSTeachProbs I encourage you to look into the grading system you use and ask yourself if you are grading on what the student knows or what they do. (5/5)
@imtryingringo@HSTeachProbs The 100 point grading scale is archaic and needs an overhaul. I was in a district that moved to a Standards Based Grading (SBG) system, where students were grading on their knowledge of the standard not if they completed HW, brought a gift or supplies, regular attendance. (4/5)
@TeacherLingua @BeardedTeachLG @HSTeachProbs I don’t understand giving HW to all S’s. Some kids need practice, some do not. You’re punishing those that can do by having them jump through the same hoop 100x. You’re hurting some by asking them to do something they do not comprehend. They either shutdown or do them all wrong.
@TeacherLingua @BeardedTeachLG @HSTeachProbs (6th grade Math) I don’t give homework; therefore I’m not grading it. I do give practice problems and post the solutions for them to check themselves. I grade them based on their understanding of the standard through assessments. They get feed back on cooldowns and in class work.
@TonyaSims1@6PackofCrazy@alissarynders1 @leiahickmott Don’t know why, but they are solving it from right to left. 5 goes into 5 once. Into 30 six times, etc
@KATVToddYak Every other fast food place skews their data. They mark the order complete when you pull up to the pick up window; even if you have to wait an extra 5 minutes. When they ask you to pull forward they also mark the order complete. CFA is not only quick, they are apparently honest.
