@LegallyIsrael@sharkdiveruk@kicksomehamasss @LD_Birdywatcher @SamIAmUtoo @JGreenblattADL@RepRashida And don't even try saying that sovereignty matters in this case. the International Court of justice ruled that the Geneva conventions, do apply to the West bank, regardless of there being a sovereign entity.
@punishedCJW @feltyflowsnake @UNWatch I don't see how this matters to the argument at hand. Little more than a pivot because you can't make an actual argument.
@rinzyrinz_@punishedCJW@UNWatch Did I disagree that it's hypocritical? and did I disagree that North Korea shouldn't be the one delivering this message? No so don't try attacking an argument that isn't my own.
Even so this is a message that needs to be delivered, North Korea just shouldn't be the one doing it.
@LegallyIsrael@sharkdiveruk@kicksomehamasss @LD_Birdywatcher @SamIAmUtoo @JGreenblattADL@RepRashida Based on the fact that almost every international organisation agrees on it being occupied. And according to the Oslo Accords (which you defend btw) Israel acknowledged Palestine as a sovereign state.
@sharkdiveruk@kicksomehamasss @LD_Birdywatcher @SamIAmUtoo @JGreenblattADL@RepRashida We've been over this before. Whether you agree with the UN or not doesn't affect my point. There is clear bias in the UN but for Israel, the UN has a huge discrepancy between resolutions passed against israel and other countries for similar resolutions, such as Iraq in Kuwait.
@LegallyIsrael@sharkdiveruk@kicksomehamasss @LD_Birdywatcher @SamIAmUtoo @JGreenblattADL@RepRashida We've been over this already. he United Nations Security Council, the United Nations General Assembly, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Court of Justice and the High Contracting Parties to the Convention have all affirmed that the Fourth Geneva...
@plainsdweller76 @UNWatch North Korea isn't the best country to deliver this message, but it's one that needs to be heard. North Korea or not Australia's human rights abuses need to be talked about.
@kicksomehamasss@sharkdiveruk @LD_Birdywatcher @SamIAmUtoo @JGreenblattADL@RepRashida We've been over this before. The UNHR is not the same as the UNSC, mentioning them is absolutely pointless and shows that you're really just pivoting.
@kicksomehamasss@sharkdiveruk @LD_Birdywatcher @SamIAmUtoo @JGreenblattADL@RepRashida I can't believe I didn't notice this either. Nowhere did I claim that the UN itself creates binding international law. The UN merely creates binding resolutions establishing who is violating international law.
@kicksomehamasss@sharkdiveruk @LD_Birdywatcher @SamIAmUtoo @JGreenblattADL@RepRashida We've been over this already. UNSC resolutions are legally binding under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter. You also defeated your own argument by mentioning Oslo, the PLO was not a country at the time. Do you deny the 4th Geneva convention being international law?
@sharkdiveruk@kicksomehamasss @LD_Birdywatcher @SamIAmUtoo @JGreenblattADL@RepRashida You're arguing semantics which has nothing to do with the actual argument. Although I disagree with the supposed defensive war that is not relevant to the argument. Whether it was taken in an offensive or defensive war, both are classed as being occupied by said convention.
