The project is expected to avoid ~1.7 lakh tonnes of CO2e (FY 23-24 to FY 32-33) and generate ~1.7 lakh carbon credits in the decade by shifting dispatches from road to rail.

6 Indian and 3 German startups emerge as winners of Cohort 9 of #MarutiSuzukiAccelerator program. This is the first cohort with global startups competing. The winning startups will conduct a Proof-of-Concept with #MarutiSuzuki, working closely with teams in the Company to test and validate their solutions, ranging from diverse domains such as cybersecurity, road safety, quality control, EV charging infrastructure, battery swapping, among others.

Big milestone in green logistics: India’s largest automobile in-plant railway siding was inaugurated at #MarutiSuzuki Manesar facility today by Hon’ble Union Minister @RailMinIndia Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw and Hon’ble @cmohry Shri @NayabSainiBJP. It has a total dispatch capability of 450,000 vehicles annually at full capacity.
“We are deeply grateful to the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Union Minister for Railways and the Government of India’s focused implementation of seamless multi-modal connectivity promoting green logistics. Aligned to PM’s GatiShakti National Master Plan, the company’s second in-plant railway siding facility signifies a landmark achievement in its green logistics journey. We are also highly thankful to Government of Haryana and Hon’ble Chief Minister for their timely support and guidance on this project. The project underscores our strong commitment to India’s Net Zero emissions target 2070. It will contribute to avoiding 175,000 tonne of CO2e emissions, saving 60 million litre of fuel annually at full capacity, and reducing road congestion. Lowering carbon emissions remains a top priority at Maruti Suzuki and we aim to achieve this, by increasing the share of vehicle dispatches through railways to 35% by FY 2030-31.”
