1/ One of the interesting and weird things about Silicon Valley is that no one really cares about what you did 10/20/30 years ago… unless you’re also doing something interesting today.
@michaelxpettis Can they can make this change voluntarily? Their political-economic system seems designed to be export-driven. Every other Asian growth story (Japan, Asian Tigers) invoked a debt crisis to break exigent incentives/behaviors.

@sampullara Actually, it was a campaign driven by commercial property owners that successfully scared the middle-aged & elderly that they would be priced out of their homes. The biggest benefactors of Prop 13 are longtime commercial property owners who pay almost nothing for prime RE
@dominicgates@jonostrower I think there are still unanswered questions around why Alaska did not ground that plane and do a thorough investigation into why the decompression light went off 3 times. Seems to me that just resetting the light is nowhere near enough (if that is indeed all they did)
@garyblack00 They really ought to adopt some sort of sub-model number or label scheme (eg, as Porsche does with Carrera, C4, GTS, Turbo, GT3) so as not to confuse new customers to the brand. Otherwise, newbies trying out this base Y thinks “EVs aren’t so fast”
