The evolving of money storage has been wild. Right from digging of holes, people digs holes to save their money in it, after some thought it's wasn't safe, the thought of better way. Then came the piggy bank aka (kolo in my dialect 😂) and then cooperative saving where people come together to save their money with a trusted person before we have Banks. Banks came, and it felt like a big improvement. But still, if you wanted to save, borrow, or send money, you had to go through them. They decide how much you earn, when you withdraw, and how you use your own money. You don't have total control even though it's your money
But one day, a group of builders said, “What if we remove the bank?”
What if we build a system that runs on code, not permission?
That’s how DeFi (Decentralized Finance) was born. It’s like a new version of the financial system but without banks or middlemen. It is a system the runs in Blockchain (like Sui), using smart contract and bits of code to handle things like
💰 Borrowing and lending
💱 Trading crypto
💸 Earning interest
💎 Providing liquidity.
It does everything a real life bank can do, and also much safer. So instead of going to the bank just trust the code.
Applications are still open friends and anons.
