It has been almost exactly 3 years to the day since I first read the words: “Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument” in a @NewYorker article by @kathrynschulz; 5 little words that speared my imagination and taught me so much more than I could have ever predicted... 1/4 a 🧵

...and were so eager to share their love of it with me. Today, Biden restored the monument to its original 1996 boundaries, and to mark the occasion, I’m releasing the short documentary I made about the monument, Desert Mourning, publicly online! 3/4
