@theTinkerSpace - to always be happy, or monotone, isn't true happiness. We can be happy precisely because we can be sad, and we should strive to reach the high point rather than the low one. #LIDCF18
@theTinkerSpace As someone who also listed happiness as a core value I agree with you wholeheartedly on your point. If you are unable to gain any satisfaction from what you do, then what's the point? I think it's important to feel sad, along with other emotions, as well because - #LIDCF18
@PunitNikita - compass, is easier said than done, especially given how truly ugly the world can be in terms of honesty and the truth these days. I think it's respectable that you would uphold your honesty the way you described, but felt that the distinction was important to be made. #LIDCF18
@PunitNikita I believe honesty is important as well, however, I personally see a bit of a disconnect when you say "doing the right thing or taking the right action". To do what is right, does not necessarily mean to do what is correct. Realistically, to always follow one's moral - #LIDCF18
@RMarke30 I agree that those closest to you is a very important value to hold. I've had times in the past where no one would believe me, but my mother did. Even against the world, your family will always have your back, a very special and irreplaceable bond #LIDCF18
My personal mission statement is to be able to live not just dreaming but being able to grasp those dreams with my own two hands through my personal growth and ability to adapt, and to be able to smile happily alongside others without regret.
#LIDCF18
My top three core values are happiness, versatility, and growth.
Happiness stands at the top as I believe one's own happiness is absolutely crucial no matter the scenario. If one can't be happy with what they are doing for a living, then something is inherently wrong. #lidcf18
We as people are not stagnant creatures, we should constantly seek to attain new heights. Growing and improving are signs that you are indeed alive, and that you will never be held down by anything but yourself. To grow and learn as a person to become better than who - #LIDCF18
With #rupassion at a close I just want to share that the ability to make music isn't really an ability at all, it really is something anyone can do. Here's an article I found that also takes a look at music with the same perspective: https://t.co/Ca1Jbg6dSl
Seeing as how #RUPASSION is coming to an end I want to make a post showing my total progress of having made 4 songs, maybe it's not a lot to some, but it's better than what I thought I'd end up getting. Names are still a work in progress...
#rupassion In https://t.co/k9vxogtlW3, the music is compiled from a large list of samples that the website provides. These are just the tip of the iceberg, it's a lot to sort through when looking for that certain sound, but the amount they give is incredibly appreciated.
#rupassion@audiotool was incredibly daunting at first, and honestly still has a ton I haven't been able to make use of, but I'm definitely better than when I started. This picture is really a bare minimum of what's needed to get some sounds going, at least for me.
My #RUPassion project has been revolving around the making of music, and to that I end I've been using the website https://t.co/k9vxogtlW3 It lets you make music right in your browser and requires no downloads which I think is great.
Here's a picture of what it looks like!
@OmarSohail13 All things are good in moderation, balancing how much technology is used can certainly have an impact on efficiency. However, I don't really see how this connects with the connectivity paradox and the idea of virtual distance in particular, could you maybe expand on that?
@_blythetaylor I think this could work both ways, people have varying work ethics, so it's important to consider the other side of the argument. They may be "too connected" in either case, but productivity levels in the workplace may be enhanced as a result. #LIDCF18
@meganjcuff - These are clearly two very conflicting ideas, and makes it so that work-life conflicts increase as a result. It's why I think clearly defining the employees stance as a high segmenter, as you mention, is important, to avoid such situations. If I had the choice I'd opt for high.
@meganjcuff - that someone you work with will, or at least should, respond quickly to work related queries. There's technically not much room to say the you missed the message, but if you're not supposed to be working, then you shouldn't be held accountable if you choose not to respond. -
