SPIRIT SPOUSES

You know those so-called “traditional men”, the controlling types who don’t want their wives to progress in any way because they want to maintain power and keep them bound? That is exactly how I would describe the behaviour of a spirit spouse (and that’s just putting it mildly).

A spirit spouse seeks to hinder and frustrate. Its agenda is often portrayed as:
- My spouse must not succeed.
- My spouse must never enjoy the fruit of their labour.
- My spouse's finances must constantly disappear through unexplained losses and setbacks.
- My spouse must not marry.
- My spouse must despise or reject their God-given partner in the natural realm.
- My spouse must not bear children for their spouse in the natural realm.
- My spouse must experience rejection wherever they go.
- My spouse must miss opportunities at the very point of breakthrough.

The assignment of a spirit spouse is to keep a person trapped in cycles of frustration, limitation, and misery. Deliverance from such spirits comes by the grace and power of God. They are often stubborn and persistent, refusing to leave without a fight.

And when God sets you free, guard your freedom. Stay away from the doors that gave them access in the first place. Freedom must not only be received; it must also be protected.
