Well, this definitely wasn’t what she expected. Then again, her attention had been on notes in her hand before looking up.
“Inquisitor…” Clearing her throat, Cassandra averted her gaze politely. “I didn’t mean to interrupt.”

“Just…a small gift.”
The box definitely wasn’t all that light. Inside, set on dark silk fabric was a hunting knife. A beautifully crafted handle and a black leather sheath with intricate carvings. Even the blade itself was a work of art.
Hazel gaze darted over her, taking in her appearance. But then she straightened slightly, clearing her throat.
“Oh, don’t worry. If you have somewhere to be, I don’t intend to hold you up.”
The faint hint of a smile tugged at her lips as she held up the neatly wrapped —

She opened the door as Cassandra
knocked, she was wearing her gear,
clearly she was about to head out
somewhere for some reason-
“Cassandra! I’m sorry did you need
me for something?”
She was smiling softly, clearly not in
a rush to go but definitely had
somewhere to be.

Normally she’d have focused on the same thing as always. Training, reports, any kind of work she could keep herself busy with.
But this time she hadn’t even thought of it. Instead, she was knocking on the Inquisitor’s door, wondering if @InquisitionElf would be there still.
“Well, I wasn’t planning on interrupting anything.”
She shifted slightly to lean against the wall, crossing her arms. “Just wanted to check in. Suspiciously quiet today.”
To her credit, she didn’t jump when she heard the voice. But she did flinch and moved rather quickly to close the robe that had fallen open.
“Inquisitor!” She cleared her throat. “I was simply relaxing.”
In her defense, she did knock. But opening the door to such a sight definitely surprised her.
Averting her gaze, partially to hide flushed cheeks, she cleared her throat.
“Inquisitor…I…can come back another time.”
