[ Vent ]
As each day passes, I feel more convinced that I want to add face cam for my just chatting segments in streams
Though, at the same time I know there's a stigma about crossing the two. I can't help but wonder if I'd be closing doors or throwing away opportunities by showing my face
[ Context ]
The reason I want to do this isn't because I want to stop being a vtuber. It's because I want people who were born with birth defects or anyone who's ever felt they look "different" to see that they don't have to hide themselves or give up on their dreams because of it.
I was born with cleft lip and pallet a birth defect where parts of the lip and or roof of the mouth don't fully join together (appearing as if there is hole left unpatched). You guys can visually see the scar left by reconstructive surgeries
When I was a kid, I dreamed of wanting to become a streamer. I remember planning everything, writing down costs, setting up a schedule, imagining what it would be like. But every successful creator I saw used a face cam. Somewhere along the way I convinced myself that was the only way to succeed.
So before I ever started, I gave up because I was too insecure with how I looked
[ Closing Statement ]
Adding a face cam now isn't going to be changing my content. I believe that it's about giving that little kid, the one who abandoned his dream because he was ashamed of how he looked the chance he never thought he'd have
If one person with birth defect sees that and decides not to give up on themselves the way I did. Then it'll be worth it
