Welsh folklore tells us to take it easy on the Thursday before Easter... or else: ⚡
"Maundy Thursday was important for doing good deeds. If anybody performed unnecessary work on this day they would be in danger of being stricken by thunder & lightning."
Folklore of Wales, 1909
An ex-Muslim who was sold as a child bride at age 13 and suffered inhumane rape and torture in Iran at the hands of her Muslim husband speaks out against Islam after fleeing Iran and building a new life in America.

@StevenWithAnS@SamaHoole I get your point, but your facts are a bit off. California supplies 20% +/- (that would make them the "dairy capital") followed by Wisconsin, Texas, Idaho THEN New York state 👍 Still quite a lot
The woke lexicon wasn't imposed all at once. New words and less triggering phrasings were introduced incrementally. But it doesn't stop. You don't even realize you're starting to a speak a new dialect.
I maintained ideologically diverse friends groups, and so noticed the language divergence. My non-woke friend groups spoke normal English. My woke friend group spoke like they were in some highly insulated religious community. Because that's essentially what they were.
Your ability to speak woke fluently was an indicator of status. You could only do it if you lived and breathed the ideology. For newcomers, they had to expend a lot of mental RAM processing the conversion of normal English into Woke English before words left their mouths.
Fluency was a sign you had successfully suppressed all your problematic thoughts and impulses. Your brain was no longer doing a conversion; it was its default setting.
There's essentially no coming back from that state, because it's the lens through which you view everything. It's your only frame of reference, and the ideology is designed in a way that mentally blocks every exit by surrounding them in actions and thoughts that are considered egregious woke heresies.
I was able to resist the pull of wokeness, partly because my strong understanding of evolved sex differences inoculated me against their obsession with social constructivism, but also because I could see the stark contrast between my friend groups. I could see that my woke friend group was evolving into something strange and bizarre.
This is why maintaining ideologically diverse friend groups matters. It helps you see the differences and faults of each group. Being in an ideological monoculture prevents you from noticing blind spots, because that group becomes your reference point. Cults leverage this to their own benefit.
The takeaway message here is to consume an ideologically diverse intellectual diet and make truth your primary guiding principle. It's the best way to be a truly independent thinker and avoid ending up in a cult.
The ACTUAL f*ck Pittsburgh 😳 The Steelers have a platinum QB surrounded by absolute GARBAGE. Their O-line is pathetic 😡 They can't catch a 🏈 and, if they do, they can't hold it, move it, or know what to do with it! Who's to blame? 100% NOT Aaron Rodgers.

Let’s talk about the Emmy awards, and Hollywood stars doing what they do best — act.
Hannah Einbinder and Javier Bardem threw themselves into the role of pro-Palestine activists. Red, bloody hand, pins. Free Palestine slogans. Javier looked in character culturally appropriating a keffiyeh – like he was auditioning for a role on the Columbia University quad.
The issue is, however well they perform, and however well intended they might be, and they might, that script doesn’t help Palestinians and will not make a single difference in ending the war in Gaza. It only deepens the divide and ignores the actual realities in the region.
Hannah Einbinder said Jews must be separated from the State of Israel. Now, it’s true that Jews and the Israeli government are not the same thing. Obviously. But Hannah or חנה I have to break it to you: Jews, Judaism, our language, religion culture and tradition, come from Israel. We, and you too חנה are an indigenous people. Connection to Israel is an inseparable part of who we are as Jews, no matter how much you hate the Israeli government or this horrible war.
And Javier, calling for boycotts of colleagues in the Israeli film industry is an attack on the most progressive, most inclusive and most diverse creative industry not just in Israel, but in the entire Middle East. You’re attacking the very Israelis who should be your allies in calling for this war to end.
I get it. This war has been going on for too long, and war is horrific. But selective outrage and demonization of one side won’t bring it to an end.
Ignoring Hamas’s crimes, failing to call for the release of the hostages who Hamas starves and tortures and never acknowledging that this war started with one of the most barbaric massacres in history on October 7: that’s not pro-peace. That’s propaganda. It’s not just virtue signaling, it’s actually endangering the Middle East.
Javier, Hannah, and all the rest of you who wore red blooded pins or a bag calling for a magical cease-fire – you’re ignoring the Palestinians who you should be supporting.
If you want to support Palestinians, how about some solidarity with those in Gaza risking their lives to protest against Hamas? Hamas beats them, tortures them and kills them in the streets. They need Hamas gone. They are begging for Hamas to be gone. The Arab League wants Hamas gone. Israel wants Hamas gone. Anyone who claims to care about the Palestinian people should be calling for Hamas to go.
So if you really want to free Palestine, you should listen to the people in Gaza — not the terrorists of Hamas. This cosplaying is not helping Palestinians. You’re helping Hamas stay in power. If you want to use your platform for good, use it to build bridges between Israelis, Palestinians and all the peoples of the region. Let’s stop reading the same tired script, with the same tired costumes.
If you want a better script, it sounds like this: Return the hostages. Remove Hamas. End the war.
Charlie was a man who valued honest discussion, and open debate over violence.
He advocated for the peaceful battle of ideas, and talked about fearing what happens when people reject peaceful discourse.
And you fucking shot him.
