Cars are money pits. They devour the most valuable resources in cities: space and time. When people walk places, they are easier to entice into shops, more likely to shop locally and have more time and money to spend. It’s also a lot prettier.

Bus lanes should be for buses. Not taxis. Not "private hire" cars. Buses.
Why should someone have the right to pass everyone simply due to the fact that they've paid a driver to drive them as opposed to driving themselves? Why do taxis get preferential treatment?

@Turnditch_Man @ShivajiShivaLaw Nice idea, I suspect that would also kick off another round of massive inflation as those extra costs get passed on to the consumer. There are no easy ways out of this one. Regulations around reducing the need for consumption (mandatory warranties, right 2 repair etc) may help.
