@jtygerx@FoxNews As far as sports go. Only 7% of the college population play sports. What it does for the school is bring in substantial amounts of income for the colleges to be able to provide further funding and scholarships in areas that otherwise would be greatly underfunded.
@jtygerx@FoxNews In addition the E.U. has a higher population with roughly 750 million compared to roughly 360 million in the US. The price of college in the E.U. is roughly $9500 per year vs. $31000 in the U.S. In short it would raise taxes dramatically.
@jtygerx@FoxNews The Eu in general typically pays more in taxes then in the United States. Within the U.S. taxes on income are roughly around 30% while in the EU it's typically 40% or more depending on which country you're in. The EU on average have fewer college stundents than the U.S.
@jtygerx@FoxNews Secondly there's several degrees that are available at colleges that aren't particularly useful in the job market. In that regard it'd ultimately end up wasting tax payer money.
@jtygerx@FoxNews I can agree with having universal health care because almost nobody chooses to get sick. On the other side of that having free college is not a good idea.
@sumokat@FoxNews To be fair I'm not really sure. With there so many flags already being flown I would have thought there would already have been other religious flags but I may be wrong. It stands to reason that they would allow other religious flags because of the freedom of religion.
@BrettSass844@KobeissiLetter Unfortunately for the construction industry tends to slow down during a recession...as of right now I don't know how they'll be effected hopefully they won't be.
@AussieDebPeace @elonmusk The over turning of Roe vs Wade didn't get rid of abortion it simply turned it back over to the states to decide. Secondly women a men still have the choice with whom they have sex with knowing full well what the possible outcome of that choice is.
@gregmachlin@GergelyOrosz@kevinrschultz Twitter had been in severe debt prior to Musk's purchase only making profit in 2018 and 2019 since its creation. Even without the purchase of $44 billion it was still going to face cut backs and lay offs. You can only run a business for so long without money.
@GergelyOrosz@kevinrschultz Alot of layoffs were planned by the former owner even before Elon Musk took over. The second round of layoffs were due to mostly finicial reasoning as Twitter was losing $4 million a day. While getting laid off or fired is horrible sometimes it's a necessary evil.
@jjanaria@Masonman2142@JoeBiden The US dollar has been the reserve currency for decades...when the federal reserve started to print an excessive amount of currency under the Biden administration it decreased the value of the dollar leading to inflation.
@DavidMPowell5@Shabnam_Danesh@3YearLetterman@elonmusk I agree with you that Twitter is not the government. However when government officials come to a private entity and ask them to squash a story that could potentially influence the public isn't that the same thing as the same thing as government censorship?
