Shardiya Navratri begins on 11th October 2026, Sunday, with Pratipada Tithi ruled by Surya. The day is also Sunday, ruled by Surya, while Chitra Nakshatra is ruled by Mangal. This Sharadiya Navratri, Maa Durga is arriving on *Gaja Vahana* the Elephant!
Jagadamba’s arrival on an elephant signifies good rainfall, agricultural prosperity and Sukh-Samriddhi.

*गजे च जलदा देवी।*
The arrival of Maa on Gaja is traditionally associated with favourable rains, abundance in crops and prosperity for all. May Maa Adi Shakti bless the world with peace, abundance and well-being.

On Vijayadashami, Maa Durga will depart on the same Vahana, Gaja (Elephant), traditionally associated with auspicious rainfall, prosperity and abundance.
