1. Rinku Singh cleared the PCS exam in 2004.

2. In 2009, he exposed a ₹100 crore pension and scholarship scam.

3. For exposing corruption, he was shot 7 times, with 2 bullets hitting his face.

4. He survived, recovered, and went on to become an IAS officer in 2022.

5. Now he has resigned, reportedly because he was denied a field posting.

6. This reflects a broken system where honest officers are sidelined while corrupt ones often get powerful field roles.

7. If the public does not stand with honest officers, integrity will keep being punished and corruption will keep thriving.

He was an IIM Lucknow graduate.

He got a job with Indian Oil Corporation as a sales officer.

His territory was Uttar Pradesh.

He found that petrol pump dealers were adulterating fuel and cheating customers.

He reported it. He sealed the pumps.

On November 19 2005 a petrol pump owner shot him dead outside his office.

He was 27 years old.

The killers were convicted. Sentenced to life imprisonment.

His parents did not get compensation for 15 years.

His college created the Manjunath Shanmugam Trust in his name to fight corruption.

Some men die because they refused to look the other way.

India forgets them too quickly.

SDM is a toxic Cadre. Meet SDM Chotu Lal Sharma who abused and slapped a CNG Pump Attendant in Bhilwara District of Rajasthan because the attendant filled CNG in another car before him. I am currently helping a family where a young man is languishing in Jail on charges of rape even though CCTV footage shows woman entering the flat, exiting the flat smiling, going down with him in the lift, coming out of the lift, giving him her mobile before leaving to save something, shaking hands with him and bidding a goodbye. This woman has lodged many rape cases before but without any investigation at all police arrested him

Only those who are dealing with such false cases understand what's happening in our police stations and courts

Sir, not only now, in future also, except WHO recommended formula ORS, no sachet or tetrapack should be allowed in the pharmacies(including online), hospitals, and schools, as far as rehydrating medicines are concerned. ORS should never be allowed to be used on the labels except for WHO Recommended Formula ORS even if these liquids are being sold in the supermarkets and quick commerce platforms only! Trusting that you will ensure the October 15th order is implemented with urgency!

When the petrol pump employees didn’t serve him first, he politely reminded them with, “Oye! SDM hoon main yahan ka. Tereko dikh nahi raha gaadi lagi hai.” The arrogant staff, instead of paying due respect with a salute, argued back, so the SDM respectfully slapped them.

But the high-headed employees dared to slap him back, despite knowing that an SDM is a God-bestowed blessing upon them. Chhotu Lal, maintaining his calm, again politely remarked, “SDM par haath uthata hai, teri behan ko…”

Subsequently, police arrived and served justice by arresting the three petrol pump employees.

When the video went viral, the SDM’s wife explained that he wasn’t angry because of the delay in petrol but because the pump staff winked at her and said, “Kya maal lag rahi hai.” Although there’s no CCTV evidence supporting the SDM’s wife’s claim, well, she’s the SDM’s wife, so if she says it, it must be true.
