@verdur_in @theretroviking @fair_jobs It's not just bumping around for two years. It's training to do the job - essentially an apprenticeship. A degree requirement for apprentice roles blocks applicants with relevant museum experience that do not have formal qualifications. The institution is not relevant.

I started to put down about the amount they have advertised as the salary for the role as long as I am happy with it.

@fair_jobs In 2006, with 1 year of volunteering, Museum Assistant on alternate Saturdays, (about 14 hours pm) at local history museum. Offered me OT on Sundays & evening events when they could. Already had a 20-hour Mon-Fri job in a different sector too.

About 8 years ago at work I received a letter of congratulations for working two years without a sick day. 😱 thoughts were - 1. was 'why is this a thing?' 2. friend who had been off sick a lot that year and how much her employer might be judging her for it.😠
