@ratcitymayor I also think people think a degree is equivalent to experience and it's not. Someone with a degree in business management applying to a cashier role gets upset when they're denied but the candidates they were competing with have 15+ years of experience at a register

Cause I always had teenagers in the building who have to be out by 10pm sharp so I can't risk closing at 9:15-9:30 cause then we don't get all our closing duties done before teenager has to clock out. I would literally stand by the door and guard it 5 mins before closing lol

My thing was always "the registers will be closed in 3 minutes, any purchases you want to make after that can be done tomorrow at 10am!" And if they get snippy with me I'd say "I'm sorry due to labor laws we have a strict closing time" or something along those lines lol
