Start with a simple routine that gets you to the starting line—hydrated, fueled, and focused.
Then do the hard, unglamorous work.
The best routine is the one that gets out of your way and gets you out the door to do the thing.
In life, there’s “junk effort,” —stuff that feels effortful but isn’t moving you forward.
The goal isn’t to be busy. The goal is to get better.
The best in the world obsess over the fundamentals.
They don’t add complexity until the basics are so second-nature they’re boring.
And even then, they add slowly, deliberately.
Fads fade. Consistency compounds.
What we often call “discipline” is really a form of procrastination wearing a productivity costume.
