UPDATE! It's with heavy hearts that we're going to go quiet on here from next week.
As a theatre dedicated to supporting others, it's hard to ask help for ourselves. If you want to help us come back and better, please donate here: https://t.co/aD0HxFucsO
Goodbye for now...
BOOK OF THE YEAR 2020 👑 And the FIRST Black AUTHOR to win it let alone Black WOMAN since the prize BEGAN in 1994? Sorry for all the caps but what are you telling meee #Nibbies
Sorry people keep saying that - I disagree.
All my life people have said 'ignore abuse', 'ignore racism' 'don't rise to the bait' 'don't fight back'.
If you're looking for a definition of what this moment is about its about black people saying 'no' - we will fight back.
Getting ready to go off to Buckingham Palace to be made a Dame! Can’t tell you how excited I am. So wish my beloved mum was alive to come with me today. She was the most loving and giving person in the world. This is her day too❤️❤️ https://t.co/jbrNkHuYjM
We're told that racism on campus is all in the minds of the people who face it. And when academics like my brother face overt racism the message is - don't make a fuss. This isn't good enough.
Why are we eating ourselves alive?! I refuse to join the lynch mob nature of Twitter. That's never been in my energy. Anyone that knows me, knows this. I'd rather speak face to face, take actual action rather than try to fix problems in the limited number of characters provided
1. Ebenezer Azamati felt compelled to arrive early @OxfordUnion b/c lack of accessibility
2. Confronted for returning to seat HE RESERVED
3. Dragged out in act of violence powerfully symbolising acts of aggression towards MANY black students
